Your generosity will provide books, libraries, and essential educational reading resources to ensure that children and adults in rural Haiti can learn, grow, and thrive in the 21st century. Please consider helping Partners in Literacy Haiti continue to grow. We would like to train more volunteer librarians and teachers to help us reach more of the young, disadvantaged, children who wish to read, write and spell in French, English, and their mother tongue, Haitian Kreyòl. You can help in many ways—through a financial donation, becoming a PILH volunteer, or just helping to spread the word about our work in Haiti.

We need volunteers who are passionate about books, libraries and young readers–and care about changing Haiti’s future!
All our volunteer opportunities are focused on creating a culture of children’s libraries for Haiti, for birth through 8-year-olds. Our hope is that all young children will someday – while enthusiastically acquiring more and more knowledge – grow into readers in colleges, professions, citizenship and parenthood.
We currently are composed of an all-volunteer board and committee
structure. On staff, we have a paid Haitian-American part-time Outreach and Training Consultant and a paid part-time American Library Training Specialist. We have an American, Haitian, and Haitian-American trio of Advisors to answer particularly difficult questions and strategize impactful future planning with us.
